As announced last month, we are going to hold a session to show how to make a video using the programme ‘Movie
Maker’ which if you run Windows xp or Vista is included free in the system.
This will be held at The Bull on Saturday 16th May at 3.00.
By demonstrating and hands on learning we hope that people will be able to produce their first video using this technique.
We also hope to demonstrate other techniques of movie making as well, which are simple, but very effective.
We will have equipment available to use, but if you can bring along a laptop with Vista or xp, this would help.
We intend to cover the following Topics
1. How to make a video using still pictures
2. How to import from camera and/or use existing video files
USB or Firewire connection
Multi
card reader
3. How to select the bits you want and assemble them
Splitting clips and adding to timeline
4. How to add text
Titles, sub-titles, credits
5. How to jazz up the result
Effects and more transitions
6. Options for making video output file
Size, quality, ultimate destination
7. Where to start !
Storyboards, scripts etc etc
If you have some old video on video tape, bring it along, we should be able to transfer it to digital, so you can
use this.
Similarly if you have some old photos which you would like scanned in to use, then bring along, as we hope to be able
to bring a small scanner along to scan these into digital form.
We look forward to seeing as many potential 'movie makers' as possible.
