Launton Scarecrow Trail “Celebrating Heroes”
Saturday 10th – Sunday 18th October 2020
At St Mary’s we have been wondering what we could do to mark the autumn season as a harvest lunch is not possible this year.
So we are organising a Scarecrow Trail from Saturday 10th October until Sunday 18th 2020. Planning has been done around government guidelines and we hope the scarecrows will put smiles on people’s faces as they walk around the village.
Our theme is “Heroes” in recognition of all the key workers who continue to support us but it could also be a hero from a book, a film or just a hero to you!
How to take part
If you have entered a scarecrow, it needs to be ready by 10 October and displayed until 18 October.
If you want to take part in the trail, please make a donation on our JustGiving page, the suggested amount is £5 per family.
A trail map, showing the location of all the scarecrows will be available here and in the October Launton Lines. Details about how to vote for your favourite scarecrow will be available here soon.
The 3 scarecrows with the most votes will be awarded prizes. More details in October’s Launton Lines and to be available on this page.
Preparing Your Scarecrow
Please let your imagination and creativity take over and have a go at making a Scarecrow using any safe materials you have at home. You don’t have to have straw in it but it’s ok if you do have some at home. Your scarecrow can be of any size and shape and just needs to be seen outside of your own property on October 10th until October 18th.
We look forward to seeing all the artistic and creative talent in Launton on display!
