REPORT TO THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 24TH APRIL 2009

I have to report another very successful year – our 14th,  which also included the one hundredth edition of this village newsletter.

We are finding that our readers are contributing a steady flow of articles and photographs, which is a very satisfactory situation.

We would very much welcome input from groups who have never – or only rarely – sent in articles about their activities; we think that they would find that this would be to their advantage.

Groups and societies who do use our pages to advertise their forthcoming events and also report on these events would agree that Launton Lines provides the community with an efficient and cost effective way of getting their message across.

The committee running Launton Lines is grateful to Launton Parish Council and Cherwell District Council for their grants towards the production of this monthly newsletter.

We also thank most sincerely all those businesses, however large or small, for making use of our pages to advertise their goods and services; we hope that the arrangement is as beneficial to them as it if to us.

As chairman I must pay a particular tribute to our editor, Bryan Mooney, and to our treasurer, Anne Knibbs, as well as the rest of the committee and also the volunteers who so efficiently make sure that a copy of Launton Lines arrives promptly on each doormat in the parish; I am most grateful to each and everyone of them for their support.

Pat Tucker,
Chairman, Launton lines.
