On a very hot Saturday (22nd) in May 2010, a crowd of 39 people gathered
outside the Bull Pub to be taken by coach to Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.

After a rather interesting route taken by the driver, through
the centre of Cheltenham and Gloucester, we arrived in good shape, to be met by 2 guides from the centre itself.

| Slimbridge Tour |
We were taken on a very interesting tour of the collection area. Each little lake was planted up and stocked
with birds to represent different continents and parts of the world.

We were lucky enough to have the centre Manager as one of the guides, and she explained how the place
had been in difficult financial straits, and had been let to become a little jaded.

After the tour, shade was sought to sit down and have picnics.
In the afternoon we visited the hides, and had an obligatory ice cream and/or cream tea.

The whole day was a great success, enjoyed by all, and it was also a good time to catch up with people in the
village who hadn't been seen for a time.
Many thanks to Bob and Lesley for organising it.
