LOVE AND PERFECT HARMONY
BY RAYMOND HOPKINS
Performed at Launton Parish Hall Friday 30th and
Saturday 31st October 2009
A visit to the Parish Hall on Friday 30th October would have rewarded
you not with Dog Training, or Tae Kwondo lessons, but the chance to see the comings and goings of a local choral society.
Yes, this was the annual Launton Village Players Play "Love and Perfect Harmony", written by local playwright
Raymond Hopkins, who as we found out after the performance was in the audience.
This farce revolving around the 'talents'
of Edith Cosmore, played very convincingly by Lesley Payne, unfolded around choral rehearsals, much singing out of tune, and
a singing competition in Salzburg.
Accompanied on the piano by Nikki Fine, the cast gave a very entertaining performance,
enjoyed by a very appreciative audience.
Directed by Steve Procopiou, the cast was:
Justin O'Toole,
Lesley Payne, Shirley Jones, Mark Hudson, Diane Procopiou, Tina Cherry,Andy Roberts, Rod Fine, Vicki Denison, with Nikki Fine
playing piano.
Below is a rather low quality photo of Raymond Hopkins at the end of the show and below that his
emailed comments.

Email from Raymond Hopkins after seeing the performance:
I greatly appreciate the coverage you have given me on your village website.
The Launton Players did a fantastic job with their production of 'Love
and Perfect Harmony'.
The
direction was inspired, and each of the cast had their characters nailed down exactly as I envisaged them.
It was the best performance of the play I've seen. Please pass on my grateful thanks to everyone who was involved in the production.
Through their efforts,
we are closer to finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
